Having his own restaurant has always been Andrew Weissman's dream. He is the mastermind behind the culinary artistry at Le Rêve, which means "the dream" in French. At 22 years old, he headed to Mexico City to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. During off-peak news times, Andrew prepared meals for the camera crews in the news bureau. Their love of his meals prompted a suggestion that he might be better suited to a career as a chef.
Opting to pursue this idea, he returned to the states, and enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America. Upon graduating at the top of his class, he worked under Master French Chef Jacques Thiebeult for two years. Andrew was then offered the opportunity to work for a year throughout France as a stagier. He worked at Restaurant Bernard Andrieux, Hotel de la Poste, and even a brief stint at world-renowned Restaurant Troigros in Roanne. Then, back in the states, he worked at the newly opened Le Cirque 2000 in New York. His desire to return to his hometown of San Antonio, Texas, coupled with the city's need for a world-class French restaurant brought forth Andrew's ultimate dream, Restaurant Le Rêve.
Since its inception, the contemporary French cuisine has received critical acclaim and Chef Weissman has been touted as a rising star in the culinary industry.
